To promote renewable energy (RE) while helping Germany achieve its goal of producing 65% of its electricity from "green" energy sources by 2030. Germany's Environment Minister said that the ruling coalition in Germany agreed to amend the Energy Law.

Energy sources accounted

The utility industry association in Germany (BDEW) said that in 2020, renewable energy sources accounted for 46.3% of Germany's electricity consumption, 3.8% higher than in 2019. This increase was due to the decline in electricity consumption during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.
